Managerial Economics
This course gives an introduction to the parts of microeconomics that are most relevant from a managerial perspective. Determining the relevant competitive arena for the firm, assessing the entry barriers to the market, and the degree of competition will be central to developing an understanding of what produces healthy profits. The managerial strategic options - particularly with respect to market entry/exit decisions and pricing - are thoroughly discussed. The course also includes a review of basic optimisation, consumer demand, production costs, and equilibrium analysis.
