BMI Executive MBA Graduation Marked by International Awards and Education Minister’s Greeting

A record number of 52 high-level managers from leading international and local companies graduated today from the BMI International Executive MBA Programme in a ceremony attended by representatives of BMI’s European partner schools, Lithuania’s Education Minister and some 250 other persons at Old City Hall in Vilnius.
“I congratulate BMI for graduating its largest class of business executives yet,” said Gintaras Steponavičius, Lithuanian Minister of Education and Science. “The BMI International Executive MBA programme, which is based on collaboration of the business community and higher education institutions from five countries, this year earned highest-level international recognition. The BMI EMBA definitely serves as a stimulus for economic development in our region, and is a good example for Lithuanian higher education,” he added.
The BMI Class of 2010 includes high-level managers from leading Lithuanian companies such as Omnitel, Pieno Žvaigždės, Achema, RAIT, Švyturys-Utenos Alus, TEO LT, Čilija and Vičiūnai, as well as executives from international firms including Statoil, Nordea, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Tele2, Sanofi-Aventis, Hay Group, MARS, SEB, Danske Bank, Johnson & Johnson and others.
“The graduates of Executive MBA Class X, 18 months ago decided to take a worthwhile challenge in order to develop their managerial excellence, and they will never regret that,” BMI Director General Jaunius Pusvaškis told the gathering. “I am pleased to welcome these talented leaders as alumni of BMI as we continue to grow and develop, together with our 450 other graduates.”
During the ceremony, the annual Award for the Highest Grade Average was presented by Belgium’s IAG Louvain School of Management to new BMI graduates Marius Juonys, who is Associate Partner at the law firm Lideika, Petrauskas, Valiūnas ir partneriai LAWIN, and Rūta Dabašinskaitė-Vitkė, who is CFO at TD Baltic, one of the largest IT product distributors in the Baltic region.
Vaiva Najūtė, who is Distribution Manager at brewer Švyturys-Utenos Alus, won the 2010 Award for the Best Diploma Paper, presented by Vytautas Magnus University.
Prof. Pierre Semal of Louvain School of Management, who is Academic Dean at BMI, presented the graduates with International Executive MBA Certificates from the five partner schools. Vytautas Magnus University Vice-Rector Vaidotas Viliūnas gave them their VMU master's degrees.
