EMBA Class VIII Initiated

21.1.2008

The Baltic Management Institute recognised EMBA Class VIII students as full members of the BMI family of business leaders during a unique initiation ceremony that tested their professional creativity. The event, the first ever “BMI Film Festival”, brought alumni, faculty and staff together Friday at the Skalvija cinema in Vilnius to enjoy and evaluate movies created by the members of the EMBA class.

In a setting that reflected the glamour and glitter of Hollywood, the elite audience laughed and cheered during the premier screenings of films including “Wild Orchid”, “Star Wars Freelancers”, and “Blair Witch Project”. In the end, they voted to honour “Scary Movie VIII” with the award for Best Movie.

“Really, the artistic and thematic quality of all the movies was astonishing,” says BMI Director General Jaunius Pusvaškis, himself a BMI alumnus, noting that the directors, producers and actors were all busy high-level managers.

“The ability to harness one’s own hidden creative potential and transmit creative passion to employees is an essential trait for successful business leaders today,” Pusvaškis adds, explaining the logic behind the format chosen for this year’s “christening”.

A team of BMI alumni organised and presented the memorable evening, led by the energetic showmanship of presenters Mantas Goštautas and Daina Daubarė, both graduates of EMBA Class VII.
