Project Management Seminar Led by Prof. P.Garcia of IE
4.2.2008
On January 31 - February 1, BMI organised an Executive Education seminar entitled “How to Manage the Project from Estimate to Costs & Avoid Risk”, led by Professor Pedro Garcia from Instituto de Empresa (IE) Business School in Spain, one of Europe’s leading business schools.
The BMI open seminar, combining analytical/theoretical methodology with real-life case studies, presented international best practices for estimating project costs and returns, for planning and controlling implementation as well as for identifying, monitoring and controlling the various types of risk that companies encounter during the course of projects.
Business leaders filled the conference room, including top and senior-level managers as well as project-management specialists from local and international companies. The participants actively discussed the issues and cases, sharing their own experiences and insights, particularly during the smaller group sessions.
“The seminar was interesting, useful and straight to the point. I liked the practical exercises, which always force you to think about and apply what you know.”

“The seminar fully met my expectations. Many issues related to project management were familiar, but the lecturer presented them in a rather new way. Pedro Garcia, as a true professional, was able to draw our attention to simple but significant things in project management.
The most useful part of the seminar dealt with risk identification and management, something quite often forgotten or ignored during the preparatory phase of a project, but which can be crucial to the project’s development and outcome.”

“During the seminar, I gained new perspective on familiar things. The topic was covered in detail, and using language that was easy to follow.”
